Earwax is a natural substance (also known as cerumen) that our ear canal produces to protect and clean the ear. It’s a mixture of dead skin cells and secretions from the ear canal glands. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not a sign of poor hygiene – it’s an essential component of ear health.
